Private & instant
Smaller PDFs are compressed right in your browser; larger ones use secure server processing and are deleted right after.
Security & privacy
Your files stay private. PDFs under 15 MB are compressed entirely in your browser — no upload, no server contact. Larger files are sent over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, processed immediately, and permanently deleted from our servers. We never store, read, or share your documents.
Frequently asked questions
Is the oMyPDF compress tool free?
Yes. Compressing PDFs is 100% free with no watermark on the output and no sign-up required.
Will compression reduce the quality of my PDF?
Less and Recommended keep text crisp and only optimize images. High trades a little image quality for a smaller file. Extreme re-renders each page as an image, which makes text non-selectable but gives the smallest size.
Why didn't my file get much smaller?
PDFs that are mostly text, or already optimized, have little to remove. Image-heavy PDFs (scans, photos) compress the most. If we can't beat the original size, we keep your original file.
Is my file safe?
PDFs under 15 MB are compressed entirely in your browser and never leave your device. Larger files are sent over an encrypted connection, processed immediately, and deleted right after.
What's the largest file I can compress?
There's no hard limit. Files up to 15 MB are handled in your browser; larger documents are routed to our servers automatically.
