Frequently asked questions

Is the PDF edited in my browser?

Yes — all editing happens entirely in your browser. Nothing is uploaded to any server. Your files stay private.

Can I edit existing text in a PDF?

No — editing original PDF text requires unpacking the document's internal structure, which differs per PDF. You can however cover text with a white-out box and add new text on top.

What annotation types are supported?

Text, highlights, freehand drawing, rectangles (stroke or filled), image insertion, and white-out boxes.

Are annotations permanent after saving?

Yes — when you click Save PDF, all annotations are flattened into the PDF using pdf-lib and cannot be separately removed afterwards.

Can I undo my changes?

Yes — use Ctrl+Z to undo and Ctrl+Shift+Z to redo. The history is maintained per session until you download.
